Deakin scholarships still available for Nov 2016 Intake
Did you know that Deakin University has one of the most comprehensive scholarship programs in Australia?
As a leading unviersity, we recognise the talent and excellence of many of our students through a generous scholarship program that includes full tuition-waiver scholarships, as well as scholarships worth 50%, 25% and 10% of your tuition.
There are still a considerable number of scholarships available for 2016. We encourage you to share this information with any potential students for Trimester 3, 2016, which starts in November. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships
Eligibility
New international students commencing in 2017.
Courses
Any CRICOS registered undergraduate degree (does not apply to the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery).
Benefits
Fifty percent of tuition fees per annum up to a maximum three years (based on an average tuition fee of $23,860, value is approximately $11,930 per annum). The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.
Duration
Three years only
Criteria
Applicants must:
- be international students with a Higher Education Sector Visa. (Subclass 573 or subclass 500)
- commence a new course of study in 2017.
- achieve a minimum ATAR of 90 or equivalent in higher secondary studies.
- provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career.
- have received an offer of admission to Western Sydney University.
- have submitted a complete scholarship application by closing date.
- not be seeking to make an application for advanced standing for their course prior to, or after enrolment.
You are not eligible if:
- you are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
- you are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University.
- you are currently enrolled at Western Sydney University and apply for a scholarship for the existing course of study.
- your scholarship application is incomplete.
- you have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.
Application and Selection Process
Short-listing will be carried out by a panel of officers from the University, chaired by the Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) or a delegated representative. Applicants will be ranked based on the selection criteria and the panel’s review of their personal statement.

Western Sydney International Scholarships – Postgraduate
Western Sydney International is offering scholarship awards to outstanding international students enrolling in postgraduate coursework programs.
Eligibility
New international students intending to commence a postgraduate coursework program at Western Sydney University in Autumn (February) session, Spring (July) session or Quarter sessions (January, April, June, September) in 2017.
Awards are granted on the basis of academic merit.
Courses
Any CRICOS registered postgraduate coursework degree.
Benefits and duration
25% of the tuition fee to be credited towards the first year of study
and
35% of the tuition fee to be credited towards the second year of study
The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.
Selection process
Selection will be based on your academic achievement in your most recent completed tertiary qualification recognised by Western Sydney University. You must also meet the academic requirements of the course you are applying to at Western Sydney University.

QUT Scholarships
Merit scholarships
Our international merit scholarships are offered through the QUT Business School, Creative Industries Faculty and Science and Engineering Faculty and awarded to high-achieving international students. As a recipient you will receive a scholarship covering 25% of your course fees, provided that you maintain a minimum grade point average throughout the course of your study.
This year, over 70 students have received international merit scholarships. If you’re studying an undergraduate, postgraduate or research program, we encourage you to apply for one of our international merit scholarships:
- Creative Industries International Scholarship: a scholarship for high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students who want to study in Creative Industries
- Triple Crown Scholarship: a scholarship for high performing and academically qualified international students who want to study business
- International Merit Scholarship: scholarship for future international Science and Engineering undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Faculty of Education International Student Scholarship: a scholarship for future international students starting undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees in Education.
